Great Game For The Supporters To Watch

Crusaders 32 Woodbridge 25

Woodbridge started the stronger side and won a penalty within the first 5 minutes to take the lead 0-3. Crusaders had a good spell of pressure and after good work the ball came out to James Garner who was tackled short of the line and Woodbridge able to clear their lines and go up the pitch and gain another penalty 0-6 to the visitors. Crusaders came back really strongly and after a good pick and go by the forwards the impressive Henry Joy went over to score after 15 minutes 5-6 conversion missed.
Crusaders forwards kept up the pressure and were rewarded with a penalty which Tristan Smith converted to make the score 8-6 to the home team after 30 minutes. The game was end to end both teams playing running rugby. Stewart Cameron scored after a quick backs move after 38 minutes to put home side 13-6 up with Tristan Smith converting to make the score 15-6. Woodbridge could have folded at this point but came back strongly to score just on the stroke of half time and got the conversion to make half time score 15-13 to the home side.
The 2nd half started with Crusaders on the front foot an after some more excellent pick a goes Henry Joy grabbed his second of the day on 46 minutes 20-13. Again Woodbridge came back strongly and scored a good try to make score 20-18 and converted to make score 20-20 Game On.
A good backs move saw Mark Keysell on the overlap to power to the line after 56 Minutes 25-20. Poor tackling by the home side saw Woodbridge go in at the corner 25-25 after 69 minutes. Next score to win. Back from injury, for his first game of the season the impressive peter blinkhorn got the winning score after a typical storming run after 72 minutes. 30-25 and Tristan Smith nailing the conversion to give the home side a 7 point lead. The tension was unbearable and tempers and discipline lacked with 3 yellow cards and a red card for Woodbridge player on full time for a blatant punch. This does not take away a very entertain game and 5 tries for the home side and a bonus point win
