Southwold 10 - Crusaders 22
Crusaders recorded their first away league victory of the season against Southwold. Another solid performance by Crusaders pack paved the way for a win that looked unlikely with two thirds of the game gone. The visitors had started badly and Southwold took advantage of a hesitant Crusaders defence to score the first unconverted try and kept pressure on the Crusaders defence for a long period. Crusaders finally gained a good field position in Southwold's 22 and the visitors pack retained the ball well for Peter Blinkhorn to crash over for a try, Loone converted 5-7 to the visitors.
Crusaders struggled to clear their line and back came Southwold for a furthere try. A forward pass from a Southwold centre having a two man overlap meant Crusaders reached half time with only a 10-7 deficit. Having lost their scrum half in the first half the versatile Stewart Cameron switched to scrum half and with the wind at Crusaders backs it was Southwold who had to defend deep. Once again it was the Crusaders pack who took control of the game. With trys from Joss Stuart and Stuart Cameron, Rob Loone converting one to add to an earlier penalty. Hamish Munro marked his second half debut with two crunching tackles.
