Crusaders 22 - Southwold 20

Crusaders completed the double over Southwold but they had to overcome a 7-20 defecit to gain a much needed win and move off the bottom of the table. Crusaders made a good start with Ben Barker slotting in well at fly half for the injured Ryan Harris. A good three quarters move was halted just short of the line by Southwold's cover defence. From the resulting scrum Southwold were pushed over their line but managed to prevent a try. Two further five meter scums saw the visitors pushedover their line but Crusaders failed to get a clean touch down. Southwold were penalised at the next scrum and a quick tapped penalty gave Josh Stuart a clean run in to score, Rob Loone converted 7-0.

From the restart Southwold responded with some penetrating runs into Crusaders 22 and with a hesitant Crusader defence were able to score 2 trys to take a 7-10 lead into the second half. Crusaders were forced to make two changes in their backs and failed to regroup before Southwold had scored two further trys for a 7-20 lead. Crusaders' forwards came to the rescue and two trys from captain Lewi White with one convertion by Rob Loone brought them to within a point of Southwold 19-20, further Crusaders pressure resulted in a penalty out wide and captain White made the right descision in giving Rob Loone the chance to convert. The scrum half made no mistake hitting the ball sweetly between the posts with just minutes to go- 22-20. Crusaders kept their record of never losing at home to Southwold.
