Southwold 20 Crusaders 19
Crusaders travelled to Southwold with five changes to the side that beat Newmarket.
Crusaders started well and pinned Southwold in their 22 but the home side defence held firm and a counter attack from the home side was rewarded with with a penalty. Crusaders backs struggled to take advantage of some good work by their pack and it was Southwold who scored the first try. Crusaders replied with a pushover try touched down by the impressive Peter Blinkhorn. Southwold kicked off the second half with the wind at their backs and increased their lead with a converted try Southwold looked comfortable winners at this stage but a mammoth effort by the Crusaders pack gave their backs a good supply of the ball. Josh Wilder and Ashley Smith scored trys for the visitors both converted by Triston Smith to take the score to within one point but Crusaders rally proved too late.
