Crusaders 7 - Woodbridge 17
Crusaders started strongly with the forwards outplaying their opponents in the scrums and lineouts. Despite the copious amount of ball Crusaders backs failed to produce their pre-Christmas cohesion and a number of chances went begging. Stuart Cameron scored the only try of the half with a typical jinking run to give Crusaders a half time lead of 7 - 0.
It was all change in the second half with Woodbridge shaking off their Christmas hangovers and severely testing Crusaders defence. 2 quick trys and a penalty from the visitors, all scored and converted by the impressive Woodbridge centre Josh Kimber left Crusaders trailing 7 - 17. With time running out Crusaders pressed hard for a bonus point but a disallowed try for an infringment summed up their day. Woodbridge deserved their victory on their second half performance.
