Crusaders 39 Southwold 10

A good bonus point win at home on saturday against Southwold the home side running in 5 tries.

The game started a bang the returning Stewart Cameron scoring a good try with only 2 minutes on the clock 5-0 with Tristan Smith converting to make it 7-0 to the home side early on.
Crusaders kept the pressure on and after a period of pressure in Southwold 22 were rewarded with a penalty which Tristan Smith kicked to make the score 10-0 after 25 minutes.
Southwold came back at Crusaders strongly and were close to scoring 2 or 3 times but Crusaders defence was excellent. On 32 Minutes Southwold were pressing for a score on Crusaders 22 but the pass out wide was collected by Stewart Cameron and the long run to the line was on. Great indivdual try making the score 15-0 Tristan Smith converting 17-0 33 minutes gone. Half Time Crusaders 17 Southwold 0
The second half started very much like the first half with a quick try for the home side. Some great running and support by the forwards and backs saw the final pass going to George King to score a great try 22-0 Tristan Smith converting 24-0.
Southwold then came back strongly and were camped in the home sides 22 they were awarded 2 penalties for infringements at the scrum and finally the Ref lost patience and yellow carded Will Chambers who was having a great game in the unfamiliar role at 2nd row for lying on the wrong side of a ruck, from the penalty they forced their way over 24-5 missing the conversion. From the kick off they ran the ball straight back at Crusaders from their own 22 to score in the corner 24-10 conversion missed... Game On
The next score would be vital and after good play by Crusaders they were awarded a penalty which was slotted over by Tristan Smith 27-10 to the home side.
The home side then pushed the advantage home with a great forwards try scored by Prop Henry Joy (60) 32-10 converted by Tristan Smith 34-10
In the final minutes a swift backs move saw the full back Tristan Smith on the outside of Stewart Cameron for Tristan Smith to score the 5th try
