Swaffham U9s Vs Crusaders U9s

Off we trundle to one of our favourite away fixtures at Swaffham .. Nice club, fair coaches and good food away from home .. Nothing like the thought of Pasta & Chips to motivate your offspring oh and a cake.. Plus Swaffham are genuinely pleased to see you.

We had 16 yep 16 - so I'm not mentioning everybody in the report or my fingers would catch fire from the smoke off the keyboard. Swaffham had a compliment of 10 so but they were well organised and had the same mixture as us, bulldozers and sprinters.

Teams were split into groups of 8 and James & Ethan lead by example. The usual slow start was quickly cemented by positive forward running some lovely handling and one particular Try was from Holly.

Big Olli put his hand up for an England call up, your scribe is making enquiries as to any Irish heritage in any of our youngsters, so George, little Ollie, Findlay, Eve, Holly, Maya, Ethan, Euan, Zach, Hugo, James, Felix, Albert, Lyndon, Josh, Juan Camillo (ok I'm pushing it) can you apply for an Irish Passport! England have already lost Saoirse & Eva .. Probably to Fiji on the residency rule.

We need to communicate better and pass to all, George, Ethan, Josh, Saoirse, Eve and James can take a bow on that point they lead by example.

Tackling is all about having that physical confidence and they will all get there eventually, but the main thing is our minions love playing for this team and being part of this great club.

Player of the week was Lyndon he never ever gave up and I saw his hands were freezing by tackling he turned defence into attack. He then scored a Try himself .. Well deserved young man.. A very proud Dad watched on the white line
