Swaffham 2nds v Crusaders 2nds

In wintery conditions Swaffham 2nds hosted Crusaders 2nds at North Pickenham Rd. With the rain and sleet making conditions very difficult it was Swaffham that palyed the better rugby. Their communication and support play soon allowed them to rack up the points against a spirited Crusaders Team that had started the game with yet another new backline, many playing out of position. Swaffham were scoring tries regularly during the first half and were comfortably leading 34 - 3 at halftime. Crusaders only score coming from a penalty by Alex Stone.
The second half saw Crusaders make a few positional changes and Martin Alcock coming on at 10,and Aiden Watts returning to the backrow gave Crus some much needed direction.
With the lineouts going well for Crus, some well placed kicks into the corners and a renewed spirt from the whole team, Crus were rewarded with 2 tries in the second half. Matt Evans scoring his first try for Crus, converted by Billy Robinson, and this was quickly followed up with a try by Martin Daniels. Final score 39 - 15 to Swaffham who had played some entertaining rugby in the conditions. The cold showers were soon forgotten as the home made lasagne after the game was fantastic.
