Norwich 3 v Crusaders 2

Norwich 3 v Crusaders 2
5-46

After a break for the snow we turned up at Norwich for the much anticipated game.
>>We had a changed back line with a welcome return after long injury for Ryan and scrum half and Jimbo back after layoff after injury at Southwold and new player Karl who has previous played for Diss

We turned up and looked like a side who were really up for the challenge and was a sense of believe in the squad.

From the start Norwich were on the back foot and were struggling to hold us out. The first score came from a penalty which was kicked by Ross 0-3 to Crusaders. We were straight back in Norwich faces and some great defence by Jimbo and Karl saw Norwich on the back foot. The first try of the day was scored by Ross after a great break saw the Norwich defence open up for him to go in under the posts 0-8 conversion taken by Ross 0-10.
Some great cover tackling from Dacky who was outstanding all game stopped Norwich scoring.
We then piled the pressure on again the forwards by far having the better of the rucks and mauls. A scrum from just outside the 22 was picked up at the back of the scrum by Ash and he powered over to score and real captains try 0-15 converted 0-17. By this stage Norwich discipline had gone and were back chatting the ref. Twice were taken back 10m for arguing and then another 10m for arguing again. The golden rule being broken do not loose the ref. Half time 0-17.
Norwich started the 2nd half a man down due to injury. We started the way we ended the first half dominating the scrums and rucks and mauls and great defence by all of the back frustrating Norwich. From good work by the backs and then good clearing out by the forwards Ash stormed clear to score again 0-22 conversion taken 0-24.
Norwich kicked across field well into our half only for Ash to collect and out pace all of Norwich back to score his hat trick under the posts.(a jug is still required lol) 0-29 Karl kicking conversion first points in a Crusaders shirt and capped a great debut. 0-31 We could have scored 2 or 3 more tries but the final pass just went a miss or a good chase by Norwich stopped Franco from scoring.
To cap a fine performance Steve picked up the ball from the back of a ruck and powered over to score 0-36 A kick by Norwich from inside the 22 missed touch and was taken brilliantly by Dan (another player only making his 2nd appearance of the season and me missed) who still had plenty to do to score beat 3 defenders to score 0-41 Norwich scored at the death 5-41, well that's what I thought but when speaking to ref at the end of the game he made the score 5-46. We will take the extra 5 points and if I missed a try im sorry peeps LOL.

This was by far the best performance by the all 17 players this season and so sweet that it was at Norwich.
Massive well done to all the boys but special Mention to Ryan on his comeback great performance and didn't look out of place or rusty at all.
Ash a captains performance with a hat trick, good looking back line in attack and defence Ryan,Cocky,Jimbo and Karl looked very solid in defence giving the wingers and full back plenty of good ball, and forwards who got around the park and rucked and scrummed brilliantly.

Much Love very proud Boss
