Happy new year to all at Crusaders

After the Christmas break and a long run of away games the 2s finally had a home game against Norwich 3s who we had played in our last game in early December
Norwich had a very different side to the side we played in December.
Norwich started strongly and put a rusty looking Crusaders team on the back foot a good move by the backs saw the full back break the line to score 0-5 to Norwich they missed the conversion
We then came back into the game and a good run by Ash saw him close to breaking the line but was brought up short of the line. A good scrum and pick up from Ash saw him pop the ball to Cocky saw him muscle over to make the score 5-5. To be fair we were not at our best and the scrum was struggling and we were being pushed back. Norwich won good ball and another good back move scored under the posts 5-10 conversion taken 5-12. Good pressure from the backs saw Steve kick the ball through and a great chase from Steve and Mark saw mark win the race to the ball and score what seemed a great try but ref said no try no pressure put on the ball.
Norwich kept the pressure on but good defence saw us hold out till half time 5-12.
We made a few changes and started the 2nd half very well with good ball to the backs saw the ball end up with Theo who scored in the corner to bring the score to 10-12 a good conversion from Ross brought us level 12-12 Game on.
We were coping much better in the forwards and again won good ball for the backs saw a great break from Mark to beat the defence and storm over to score under the posts 17-12 conversion taken 19-12. Norwich never gave up and were awarded a penalty which they kicked 19-15.
The line out was working very well and Chris was very impressive again the forwards took the ball on cleared out very well and a good move through the backs saw Theo score again. Great team try. 24-15
Some great kicking from the backs was putting Norwich under all sorts of pressure and keeping us moving forward. A ruck inside the Norwich 22 was well cleared by the forwards and taken on by George who popped the ball out to Jamie to score 29-15. In the finally stages Ben B ran a lovely line to break clear and score a great try 34-15
A good win and team performance and a good hard game just what we needed
