Friendly Week

he thirds game against Diss 4 was called off by the oposition. That is
the 3 of 6 league games canx by opposition

So we took a mixed twos and threes to play Watton 1s

This was George first game as captain

Won 27-12

A good game played in pouring rain and hailstones god i wish wasnt on
the side and playing the players looked a lot warmer than me.
A big thing this week was to start quickly as the week before we had
started very slowly and lost the game in the first 15 mins.

We did start the game very well with a couple of scrums on the Watton 22
and the ball being poped out to george for him to dive over in the
corner(great start for captain) 5-0 to Crusaders. We kept the pressure
on Watton and they could not gain any real ground.

Good ball by the forwards allowed the backs some space and a good move
was finished smartly with Franco breaking the line and scoring 10-0
converted 12-0. We had a period of Watton pressure but the defence held
out and as we reached half time a lovely drop goal from Rob Loone made
the score 15-0 at half time.
We started the second half strongly with the forwads winning a lot of
ball from line outs Chris being outstanding again at the front of the
line. Good ball for the backs saw Ross with a lovely show of the ball
break the line to go under the post 20-0 conversion taken 22-0.
Watton kicked the ball into open space and Jamie back from uni ran at
the defence a lovely kick of the top and brilliant chase saw the ball
bounce lovely for him to score. 27-0.
We then had a period where we let watton back into the game and they
scored 2 tries 27-12
We could have gone on to score more a push over try knocked on when
already over the line (oh chappy). From the next scrum we turned ball
over and a lovely kick from Rob was knocked on when over the line by
Franco.
Great result well done to all the boys great to see twos and threes
playing so well together. Thanks to Ben Egan and Ade Tipple for playing
for Watton to make a game of it
