West Norfolk 3 v Crusaders 2

We arrived at West Norfolk on Saturday looking to carry on our good form of late.
We found out when we turned up that the West Norfolk 2 game had been called off. So a very different side to the one we played a couple of weeks ago. The wind was blowing a gale and Crusaders had the wind in their faces for the first half.
West Norfolk got an early penalty which they kicked to make the score 3-0 to the home side. West Norfolk were using the wind to their advantage and were pinning us back at every opportunity. Quick ball to the backs inside are 22 saw, them break are line and score again 8-0. We were not at are best a kicked to much ball away allowing them to return the ball with extra into the wind. A good backs move saw West Norfolk go over again in the corner 13-0. Then came the real turning point of the game Ross made a big tackle on one of the backs looked hard tackle nothing more. The ref pulled the game back and to are amazement gave Ross a straight Red card for a spear tackle.(seemed very harsh with West Norfolk also agreeing with us that Ross should not of been given a red card). Straight after this things took a turn for the worse as 2 Crusaders players were down injured Chris who was carrying a back injury was down and in lots of pain and Sean down after taking a stray boot to his head. Chris coming off and Sean carrying on ablit very groggy. West then scored best try of the game when a good move saw the defence open and going over under the posts 18-0 conversion taken 20-0.
Half time we spoke about playing with pride and get at them. Sean had to come off and with in a minute of the re start Graham was down and had injured his ribs so had to come off. West gave us a player.
The second half we were much better and more than once could have scored with Ash breaking clear 3 or 4 times to be brought down short of the line and James R nearly scoring in the corner, With ten left Rob had to come off as the pull he had taken in warm up had got too much(well done for staying on for so long). The game ended in defeat but the 14 players on the field can be proud that they kept the score in the second half to 0-0. Final score 20-0.
Time to bounce back this week at home to Southwold and get well to all injured parties.
Much love the boss
