L & Y 2 V Crusaders 2

This saturday we made the trip to Lowerstoft & Yarmouth to play there 2s.
We had a strong side big welcome back to Ian who has re joined from Wymondham.
The game started well with Crusaders really looking up for the challenge the forwards doing well to get into the big pack of L & Y and backs looking very dangerous. After good ball was won by the forwards the backs took the ball on a Ian on his first run broke 3 tackles to score great welcome back. 0-5
We were looking the better side when we got ball to the backs and were close to scoring a couple of times but good defence kept us at bay. L & Y big pack started to insert some pressure and were doing well in the scrums from a scrum just outside the 22 they went close but were well held up when over the line. We were defending well and when we had the ball in hand looked the much more likley to score. Just before half time Ash picked the ball up from the back of the scrum and made his usual rampage forward the L & Y players could not keep up with him or bring him down, going over to score 0-10 final play of the half.
The 2nd half started very well with a good move seeing the ball come out to Will who was never going to be stopped 0-15. We were now turning the screw on L & Y and the fitness was telling as they were looking tired. The next try came from Ash making his trademark break crash ball off a well won line out again beat 3 for 4 tackles to dive over to score under the post(no chris ashton though more dying swan) 0-20 conversion taken 0-22. After good work from the forwards the ball arrived with Tristan who was now playing at 10 and a couple of good jinks saw him beat 2 players to score 0-27 conversion taken 0-29.
We came straight back at them and good hands from the backs saw the ball come to Will who went over for his 2nd try 0-34 conversion again taken 0-36. By this stage we were winning lineouts and scrums and from just inside L & Y half Ash picked up from the back went blindside and was in to score his hatrick 0-41 again conversion taken 0-43.
This you thought would have been the final score but a great re take from Josh saw him steam roll down the pitch where he off loaded to Sean who had supported his rum brilliantly to score 0-48 last kick off the game taken 0-50.
Great Team performance a credit to the club every player on Saturday.
