THROWING IT BACK TO LAST WEEK!
Players of the match! (In order of photos)
It was a tough encounter with league leaders @westnorfolkladiesrufc for the Emeralds last week as we took a 104-0 defeat BUT a glorious day for rugby as our hosts were gracious, welcoming and even lent us some players when the game turned into a friendly at the 60 minute mark.
FORWARD
Stacey Moulding! Stacey began training with the Emeralds last season and has been working on gaining skills and getting game-ready for her debut. She stepped onto the pitch and played a full game in hook for her first EVER game of rugby and smashed it! She took the ball for some carries, completed tackles and got involved in the ruck area overcoming her nerves and showing her potential - we can't wait to watch her continued development!
BACK
Becky Clements! Becky was masquerading as full-back during this game as she usually plays in the forwards but a big match for her as she returns after a knee dislocation on debut. She pulled in some HUGE tackles, went on some BIG runs and held position throughout the game! Well done to Becky!
PLAYERS PLAYER
Millie Boiston! Millie returned to the pitch after suffering an ankle injury in our season opener and had a stormer of a game! Playing at number 8, Millie went on some blistering runs, completed some BIG tackles and was a huge voice on the pitch pushing the team to apply what we have been working on in training!
DEBUT
Abbie Lewis! Abbie only wanted to play 10 minutes at the end for her debut and first EVER game of rugby but instead played 30 minutes in the second row! Strong scrummaging from Abbie and fantastic to see her learning as she was playing in terms of pitch positioning, defensive marking and also ball carrying!
WN NOMINATED PLAYER
West Norfolk awarded one of ours a pint ans that went to Rachel Hoxley-Carr! Playing out of position on the wing, she never gave up the chase, completed some huge tackles, screamed for defensive cover and took the ball for some big carries! She was also fantastic in the air at the lineout and was a well deserved recipient of this award!
