Good Confidence boosting win
Crusaders entertained Norwich 2s at home in a Friendly
The home side started strongly and a really good forwards move saw the ball go blindside for James Loone to crash over after 5 minutes for his first try for the first team the conversion kicked by Rob Loone 7-0 to the home side. Crusaders kept the pressure up and a good break from Ryan Harris saw him go over after 12 minutes to make the score 12-0 to the home side conversion missed.
Norwich were finding it hard to deal with the strong Crusaders pack after some excellent pick and go from the forwards saw Henry Joy crash over the line to score after 17 minutes. 17-0 to Crusaders.
Norwich had some good pressure and the back looked a threat but good defence from the home side saw Norwich unable to cross the line.
After a good period of backs play the ball went to the blindside for Billy Russell to score his first try for the club in only his 2nd appearance, 22-0 after 25 minutes.
Norwich hit back with some excellent pick and goes on the Crusaders line but the defence was excellent allow crusaders to clear their lines. From a Norwich line out quick ball within Crusaders own half saw Tristan Smith get the ball and outpace the whole back line to score in the corner 27-0 Rob Loone converted 29-0 after 35 minutes. Norwich then had best spell of the game after home team conceded penalties to allow Norwich to pin Crusaders on their line. Great tackling kept Norwich out till half time.
HALF TIME 29-0
The second half started with the game having to go uncontested as Norwich had lost 2 of their props to injury, not something the front 5 enjoy.
Crusaders were slow to start and Norwich had a good spell of possession but could not turn it into points.
A good move in the back saw the impressive Mark Keysell go over in the corner to score after 48 minutes 34-0 Rob Loone hitting a cracking conversion 36-0.
The next 20 minutes was very even the uncontested scrums making it easier for each side to get good ball.
After a really good break by the backs the forwards took control with excellent pick and go ending with Henry Joy again going over to score his second of the game after 60 minutes 41-0.
In the final minutes of the game Crusaders pushed for 1 more score and great pick up on the line by Man of The Match Tom Fiddy crash over and score 46-0
Full credit to Norwich who never gave up. A Great Team Performance back to league action Saturday away at Southwold a must win game
