Swaffham started well and resisted early Crusaders pressure, it was the visitors who got the first points on the board with a well worked three quarter move which caught the Crusaders defence flat footed, the conversion was missed.
Crusaders response was swift when at the other end Greg Thurston who appeared to be held by two Swaffham defenders muscled his way free and sprinted under the posts, Gareth Drewery converted to put Crusaders in front. A Drewery penalty concluded the first half 10 - 5.
Crusaders raised the intensity their forwards out-scrummaging their larger opponents.
Conan Hoey playing at fly-half was making his mark with some precision passing. A typical forward drive following a line out spearheaded by Blinkhorn soaked up the Swaffham defence and it was a swift feed by Loone that gave Hoey the opening to touch down. Loone taking over the kicking duties for an injured Drewery added the points. Crusaders scored again when from a line out inside the Swaffham 22 a driving maul with Cooke, Dye and Blinkhorn making good progress, prop Joy was in attendance to carry the ball over for try No. 3.
Swaffham whose efforts were contributing to an enjoyable game to watch were not finished and some strong running by their backs transferred the pressure to Crusaders line. Crusaders illegal prevention of a Swaffham score resulted in a penalty try which was converted 22 - 12.
Crusaders increased their lead when Robert Loone struck a 35m penalty.
Spirited rear guard action from the visitors kept the score respectable but they could not prevent a 4th try, Alex Witherington pirouetted off the back of a rolling maul following good work by Crusaders forwards, Loon struck a fine conversion from the touchline.
With their 6th successive win Crusaders maintain their position behind leaders Thetford in the league.
