Ipswich travelled to Crusaders with depleted numbers and conceded the league game, however it was game on and a friendly was played.

The game was all about rugby values, both sides came together, shared players and turned it into a brilliant friendly played in great spirit. It was a reminder of why we love this game.

FORWARD
Ruth has been quietly bettering herself every game and Sunday she was looking fierce! Her tackling was lethal, her rucking was solid and her scrummaging was powerful. Big points for Ruth's own development is the control she showed with her handling, not a single "no look pass" and she was able to adapt the power of her passing with distance of the receiver. She also did some powerful runs, breaking the line and powering through - Ruth really delivered on Sunday!

BACK
Sarah has had a successful season back at fly half and has been growing in confidence all the time. Sunday she was asked to really be proactive with her decision making, lower the height of her passes and try new things - and boy, did she deliver! Her voice echoed around the club as she orchestrated both forwards and backs, made plays happen and also for herself did some strong carries and big tackles! Sarah is looking increasingly threatening and is really one to watch!

PLAYERS PLAYER
Sophie is our explosive centre who delights in the contact and plays well off her fellow centre, she really has made her mark during her first season back with us. Identifiable from the sidelines by her wild blonde hair, she was asked to keep heights lower yesterday of passes and tackles. She worked hard through the game with some powerful carries, her rucking was solid and her reactions were unquestionable. It is only a matter of time until we are celebrating her first try as she is getting closer and closer to that moment!

It was a fantastic display of rugby yesterday from both teams really played in good spirits, it is what rugby is all about with both teams pulling in a shift and smiling all the way through!
