Ray Marsh, former Crusader, passes away

Ruth Smith-Batchelor11 Mar - 17:50

It’s with immense sadness that we learnt that former Crusaders player Ray Marsh passed away on 9th March.

Ray joined Crusaders in the early 80s and had a short spell coaching and playing with the first team. As the years passed, he played with the 2nds and 3rds, playing in the back row until the late 90s when he stopped playing in his mid-50s.

In 2003, he retired to Spain with his wife June but always kept a close eye on how the club was doing.

His two sons, Andy and Darren, both played many games for the club and were fortunate enough to take to the field with Ray on several occasions.

Our deepest sympathies go to Ray’s family and friends. He was a true Crusaders legend and will be sorely missed.
